Polar Bear – Churchill, Manitoba
This momma polar bear was the first to climb up and over the rocky ridge her family seemed to love so well, with her yearling cubs following close behind.
I wrestled with the crop on this one. The wider version captures the vastness of the tundra at sunset while still revealing the details that make her feel so close, her eyes, ears, muzzle, and even the outline of her tail, all traced by the soft rim light of the setting sun glowing along the edges of her fur.
